Wedding | Eindhoven & Kasteel Maurick Vught

Wow, what a way to open the season! Again I am writing this blog in English since the wedding couple was a beautiful mix of origins and cultures living in the UK. The bride being a Brazilian beauty and the groom having  Russian- Norwegian -Dutch roots you can imagine it felt like a destination wedding, but without the hassle of travelling and luggage handling.

The sun was inspired as well by the Brazilian touch, because it was the warmest and sunniest day of the year so far. After the bride getting ready in the hotel and the groom with his best (Dutch) man, they saw each other for the first time in church. The St. Joris Church in Eindhoven is a beautiful catholic church and walking down the aisle has a true meaning there. The ceremony was beautiful and meaningful. There were moments filled with laughter and moments of tears, remembering those who were there in their hearts.

After church we went to the Stadswandelpark, my favourite park in Eindhoven. A great place to seek some shade under the old trees. And with this couple shooting portraits is like a picknick, so elegant and in love. But the champagne was waiting in the castle so we had interrupt our magical portraits  and drive to Vught.

Kasteel Maurick in Vught is a castle as you would draw as a child. With a lovely bridge and towers it captures the typical dutch history of ages ago. For me the highlight in the garden was the white wisteria. The light underneath it was beautiful and it gave that romantic touch on every photo.

The mother of the groom opened the afternoon drinks with a traditional bride & groom kissing act. After the great kiss (a really long kiss!) it was time to cut the cake and enjoy music, speeches and champagne the rest of afternoon.

All was very relaxed and it gave me time to wander around the castle and have a sneak peak at the Orangerie. It was like walking into Eftelings’ Droomvlucht, where big numbers of flowers filled the room with a sweet parfum. A lovely venue to have dinner with all the guests. The speeches of family and friends represented what I felt during the entire day: there was such a big love between this big modern family, whom are spread all over the world. In between courses I managed to kidnap the couple for a few sunset moments in the garden, again spectacular!

After dinner there was music, lots of music! The mix of dj beats and brazilian moves got the party started immediately. Don’t believe it, just watch!

Dear bride & groom: it was a privilege to have been your wedding photographer and hopefully we meet again some time.

Love Linda
